Key West

Key Weird. Key West. Cayo Hueso. Bone Island. A Bicycle Paradise with beautiful, old neighborhoods, colorful tropical gardens and the Oversees Heritage Trail heading north to Key Largo.

The island is small, very small, about two by four miles; with most of the action happening in Old Town, an area about one mile by one mile. It’s packed with old Conch houses, amazing trees, small hotels, shops, alllll the bars and some beautiful waterfront. The most popular rental bicycles are basic singlespeed beach cruisers; it’s a small, flat island. Wandering about Old Town is a ride back into time. Unfortunately, cars, soo many cars, parked, looking for parking or just sightseeing. Always lock your bicycle up here, do not leave a nice bici locked up outside overnight downtown!

The Baby’s Ride. Nobody puts Baby in a corner. Baby’s Coffee is actually at MM15 and a very popular morning ride. And for good reason. 30 miles round trip on mostly bikepath, including three car-free bridges from the original Overseas Highway, amazing water views on both sides and a great coffee spot for the destination. Unfortunately,  Chilly’s Bicycle Shop, has closed.  I’d would have been happy to give ya some air and lube and chat about riding around Key West and the world! It was a tiny shop but we did carry some great gear from Arkel, Banjo Brothers and the essentials for riding in the Keys.
